Dialed

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 6, 2026

Short version: Your brews, coffees and notes stay on your phone. Dialed sends anonymous usage statistics (which features are used, app performance and crashes) so we can improve it. You can turn this off in Settings.

What Dialed stores

Your brews, coffees, recipes, equipment and preferences are stored only on your phone, in the app's local database. They are not sent to us or to any third party. If you use iCloud device backups (iPhone) or Google backup (Android), this data is included in your backup under Apple's or Google's terms.

What Dialed does not do

Dialed has no account system, no advertising and no tracking. It does not use your advertising identifier and never sells or shares personal information.

Usage statistics

To learn which features help people and whether the app is fast and stable, Dialed sends anonymous usage statistics to TelemetryDeck, a privacy-focused analytics service hosted in the European Union. It is the only third-party SDK in the app.

What is sent: the names of events (for example "brew logged", "suggestion shown", "share opened", "paywall viewed"), the app version, iOS version, device model and language, coarse settings (such as whether taste tracking is on), rounded or bucketed counts and timings (for example "6โ€“20 brews" or "under 10 seconds to log"), app performance and crash information about the app's own code, and a random identifier that is created and hashed on your device so the same install can be counted once. It cannot be used to identify you.

What is never sent: your journal content, coffee names, roasters, notes, grind settings or recipes, the questions you ask the assistant, your location, contacts, photos, or advertising identifier.

Retention: statistics are kept in aggregate to see trends over time. Because they can't be linked to you, we can't single out one person's statistics.

Turning it off: Settings โ†’ About โ†’ "Share anonymous usage statistics". When it's off, Dialed sends no usage statistics at all. Statistics are also never sent from sample data or test builds.

The coffee assistant

The assistant runs entirely on your device. When available it uses the phone's own on-device model (Apple Intelligence on iPhone, Gemini Nano on supported Android phones); your questions and brew history are processed locally and never leave your phone.

Purchases

Dialed Pro is sold through the App Store on iPhone and Google Play on Android. Payments are processed by Apple or Google; we never see your payment details. The app only asks the store whether you own Pro.

Suggestions from supporters

If you've bought Dialed Pro, you can send the developer an idea or a bug report from inside the app. This only happens when you write a message and tap Send. What's sent: your message, the type (idea, bug or other), an email address only if you choose to add one, the app version, your phone model, OS version and language, and the store's signed proof of your Pro purchase.

The purchase proof is only used to check that the message comes from a supporter and to limit how many can be sent per day; we store a one-way scrambled form of its ID, not the ID itself, and never see your Apple or Google account or payment details. Nothing from your journal is sent. Messages are stored in Google Firebase (European region) and the developer gets a notification of each one. They're used only to improve Dialed and, if you left an email, to reply to you. To have a message deleted, email the address below.

Children

Dialed does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
